Cardiologist shares the 10 foods he would never eat

In an article published by Newsweek, Dr. Dariush Mozaffarian, a cardiologist and professor of nutrition at Tufts University, shared insights on foods to avoid for maintaining heart health. He highlighted that processed meats like hot dogs, sausages, and deli meats should be avoided due to their high levels of sodium and preservatives, which can increase the risk of heart disease. Additionally, he advised against consuming sugary drinks, including sodas and fruit juices, because of their high sugar content that can lead to obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular issues. Dr. Mozaffarian also warned about the dangers of trans fats found in many fried and processed foods, as they raise bad cholesterol levels and increase the risk of heart disease. He emphasized the importance of reading food labels to avoid these harmful ingredients and recommended focusing on whole, unprocessed foods for a healthier diet.
