To enhance the treatment's effectiveness, the researchers also use ultrasound to create microbubbles that help the drug penetrate deeper into the tumor. Initial tests on mice have shown promising results, with the treatment successfully shrinking tumors and extending the animals' lifespans. The researchers are now working to refine the technique and hope to begin human clinical trials within the next few years.
