2 former merchants sentenced to prison for $1M food stamp fraud

Two former Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, store owners, Mohammed F. Khan and Mohammed N. Khan, were sentenced to prison for their involvement in a food stamp fraud scheme. Mohammed F. Khan, 53, received a 46-month sentence, while Mohammed N. Khan, 30, was sentenced to 24 months. The scheme involved the illegal exchange of food stamps for cash and ineligible items at their stores, Save A Lot and S&A Wholesale, between 2016 and 2019. The fraud resulted in a loss of over $4.8 million to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Both individuals were also ordered to pay restitution and serve three years of supervised release following their prison terms.
