Adam Rashwan and Mervant Gharib allowed customers at their market in Harrisburg to exchange benefits for cash, which is illegal.

Two former Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, store owners, Mohammed F. Khan and Mohammed N. Khan, were sentenced to prison for their involvement in a food stamp fraud scheme. Mohammed F. Khan, 53, received a 46-month sentence, while Mohammed N. Khan, 30, was sentenced to 24 months. The scheme involved the illegal exchange of food stamps for cash and ineligible items at their stores, Save A Lot and S&A Wholesale, between 2016 and 2019. The fraud resulted in a loss of over $4.8 million to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Both individuals were also ordered to pay restitution and serve three years of supervised release following their prison terms.
