  • A new map from USA Today shows President Trump's budget bill could severely impact the poorest Americans by slashing food assistance. Atlanta Community Food Bank President and CEO Kyle Waide joins Chris Jansing to explain more about the impact of the cuts.

The U.S. House of Representatives passed a $1.5 trillion budget bill on December 20, 2019, with a vote of 230-197, largely along party lines, to meet a year-end deadline and avoid a government shutdown. The bill, which was a key legislative priority for President Donald Trump, aims to fund the government through the 2020 fiscal year and includes increased spending on defense and domestic programs. It also sets the stage for a potential vote on the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), a trade deal that would replace the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
