New Food Distribution Warehouse Opens In Delaware County

Since 2022, Share Food Program has distributed more than 3.6 million pounds of food to Delaware County residents.
A new food distribution warehouse, operated by Philabundance, opened in Delaware County at 600 South Avenue in Secane, aiming to enhance food distribution efforts in the region. The 35,000-square-foot facility, which began operations on March 1, is expected to serve an additional 100,000 people annually, addressing the increased demand for food assistance due to the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The warehouse will distribute a variety of food items including fresh produce, dairy, and non-perishable goods to local food pantries, soup kitchens, and other community organizations. The opening of this warehouse is part of Philabundance's broader strategy to combat hunger in the Philadelphia area, supported by partnerships with local businesses and government entities.
