The US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service has issued a public health alert for some raw ground beef products sold at Whole Foods Market because of a risk of E. coli contamination.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert for ground beef products sold at Whole Foods Market stores nationwide due to possible E. coli contamination. The affected products, produced on April 26 and 27, 2023, by Cargill Meat Solutions, include various sizes of ground beef with use-by dates of May 2, 2023, and May 3, 2023. Although there have been no confirmed reports of illness, consumers are urged not to consume these products and to either dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase. The FSIS is concerned that some of the products may still be in consumers' freezers.
