If the bill becomes law, it would be "one of the most substantive victories" for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s "Make America Healthy Again" campaign.

In Texas, a new bill proposed by State Representative James Talarico aims to mandate warning labels on snack foods like Doritos due to their high acrylamide content, a chemical formed during high-temperature cooking that is linked to cancer. The legislation, inspired by California's Proposition 65, would require products containing acrylamide to carry labels warning consumers of potential cancer risks. This move comes in response to a 2005 study by the FDA which found acrylamide in various foods, prompting concerns about public health. If passed, Texas would join California in requiring such labels, potentially influencing snack food manufacturers to alter their production methods to reduce acrylamide levels.
