Music, food and dance marked the Juneteenth holiday in Kalamazoo as hundreds filled Bronson Park throughout Saturday.

The Juneteenth celebration in Pittsburgh's Point State Park brought together a diverse crowd to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States, featuring music, food, and educational activities. The event, organized by the Poise Foundation, included performances by local artists and speakers who highlighted the significance of Juneteenth, which marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans in Texas learned of their freedom. Attendees enjoyed a variety of food vendors and participated in activities designed to educate about African American history and culture, fostering a sense of community and reflection on the ongoing struggle for racial equality.
