Changes coming to Harrisburg International Airport with renovations, new food options

The Harrisburg International Airport is set to undergo significant changes with the introduction of new nonstop flights to several destinations, including Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, starting in May 2023. These new routes are part of a broader expansion plan that also includes the addition of new amenities and services at the airport, such as a new lounge area and an expanded food court. The airport's director, Timothy Edwards, emphasized that these enhancements are aimed at improving the passenger experience and boosting economic growth in the region. Additionally, the airport is investing in sustainability initiatives, including the installation of solar panels and the adoption of electric ground service equipment, to reduce its environmental impact.
