The Charlotte Knights have partnered with Feeding Charlotte to rescue surplus food from gamedays and donate it to Salvation Army Center of Hope, a women's and children's shelter.
The Charlotte Knights, a minor league baseball team, have introduced a new "Pass the Plate" initiative at Truist Field to address food insecurity in Charlotte, North Carolina. This program, starting on June 2, 2023, allows fans to donate non-perishable food items or make monetary contributions at the ballpark, which are then distributed to local food banks and charities. The initiative aims to combat the rising issue of food insecurity exacerbated by economic challenges, with the team hoping to make a significant impact on the community by encouraging fan participation throughout the season.
