U.S. health officials intend to phase out artificial food dyes

As part of Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s "Make America Healthy Again" initiative, he announced a sweeping plan to phase out artificial dyes from the U.S. food supply.
U.S. health officials are planning to phase out the original COVID-19 vaccines and transition to using only updated booster shots that target both the omicron variant and the original virus strain, as announced by the Food and Drug Administration on January 23, 2023. This shift aims to simplify the vaccination process and better protect against current circulating variants. The original vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna will no longer be used for primary vaccinations, and instead, the bivalent booster shots, which have been available since last fall, will be used for all doses. This change is expected to be implemented in the coming weeks, pending approval from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
