  Blessings in a Backpack is a program that has been in Green Local Schools for 13 years and is moving to a new location to continue its mission.

The "Counting Their Blessings" food program, which has been providing meals to children in need for over a decade, has recently moved into a new, larger facility in Cleveland. This move was necessitated by the program's growth, as it now serves over 1,000 children weekly, up from the initial 300. The new space, donated by a local business, allows the program to expand its operations, including the addition of a commercial kitchen and increased storage capacity. This expansion is crucial as it aims to address the rising demand for food assistance among children in the area, exacerbated by economic challenges. The program's founder, Kim Anderson, expressed gratitude for the community's support and emphasized the importance of continuing to serve the community's most vulnerable members.
