A senior Palestinian pediatric doctor described the humanitarian crisis in Gaza as "unbelievable," witnessing children dying from hunger and preventable injuries.

Dr. Nahreen Ahmed, a pulmonary and critical care specialist who recently returned from volunteering in Gaza, described the dire conditions and the looming threat of famine among the population. In an interview with ABC News, she highlighted the severe food scarcity, noting that people are surviving on minimal portions of food, often just a can of tuna or a piece of bread per day. Ahmed recounted stories of resilience, such as a mother who managed to feed her children by begging for food, and a young boy who shared his meager meal with others. She emphasized the urgent need for a ceasefire and increased humanitarian aid to prevent further deterioration and potential famine, warning that without immediate action, the situation could lead to widespread starvation and death.
