Port Adelaide's star midfielder Ollie Wines was cleared to play after experiencing heart palpitations during a match against Sydney Swans, which Port Adelaide won by 10 points. Wines, who had a similar issue in 2022, was substituted out of the game in the third quarter as a precaution, but subsequent tests confirmed he was fine and he will be available for the upcoming Showdown against Adelaide. Despite the health scare, Wines remains optimistic and focused on his recovery and future games.
