What to know about food poisoning illnesses caused by listeria

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a recall of over 400 food products by Fresh Ideation Food Group LLC due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections. The recalled items, produced between January 24 and January 30, 2023, include sandwiches, salads, snacks, yogurt, and wraps sold under various brand names such as Bistro to Go and Quick & Fresh. These products were distributed to numerous retailers, convenience stores, and vending machines across several states. The recall was initiated after environmental samples tested positive for Listeria, although no illnesses have been reported to date. Consumers are advised to check their refrigerators for the recalled products and either discard them or return them to the place of purchase.
