While detailing life behind bars in 2023, Todd Chrisley claimed that a dead cat "dropped down on the top of the food"

Todd and Julie Chrisley, who began their prison sentences in January 2023 for bank fraud and tax evasion, have expressed dissatisfaction with the food provided in their respective facilities. Todd, incarcerated at the Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida, described the food as "disgusting" and mentioned that commissary items are often expired. Julie, serving her time at the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky, also criticized the food, calling it "absolutely awful" and noting that it is often served cold and unappetizing.
