  • Exposure to lead, which is a neurotoxin, can cause irreversible and life-long health effects in children.

Publix Super Markets has issued a recall for its GreenWise brand baby food, specifically the GreenWise Chicken & Vegetable Baby Food in 4-ounce glass jars, due to elevated levels of lead detected in a routine safety test. The recalled product, which has a "best by" date of December 2024 and a UPC code of 4141512713, was sold in Publix stores across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. Customers are advised to return the product to any Publix store for a full refund, and no illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall. Publix has apologized for any inconvenience caused and emphasized their commitment to food safety.
