The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has banned the use of eight artificial food additives, including Red Dye No. 3, potassium bromate, and brominated vegetable oil, due to their links to health issues such as cancer, nervous system damage, and hyperactivity in children. This decision, effective immediately, follows years of advocacy from consumer groups and aligns the U.S. with the European Union, which has already banned these additives.
