Amherst, MA - March 21st, 2026 - The town of Amherst is actively seeking input from residents and visitors as it unveils proposed designs for a comprehensive revitalization of its downtown area. The project, initially approved by Town Meeting in 2023, aims to enhance pedestrian access, improve the aesthetic appeal of the town center, and strategically accommodate future growth while preserving the unique character of this historic New England town.

The ambitious project isn't simply a cosmetic makeover; it's a holistic approach to creating a more vibrant and sustainable downtown core.
