Braves Sign Catcher to Minor League Contract: Report

  • Just Baseball Media's Aram Leighton reported on January 17 that the Atlanta Braves signed a catcher to a minor league contract.

The Atlanta Braves have signed catcher Tyler Tolve to a minor league contract, as reported by Mark Bowman of MLB.com. Tolve, who was previously with the Kansas City Royals, was selected in the 2021 MLB Draft in the 19th round. He has not yet made his major league debut but has shown promise in the minors, hitting .261 with 12 home runs and 46 RBIs in 75 games for the Royals' Double-A affiliate, the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, in the previous season. This signing adds depth to the Braves' catching prospects.
