  • Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) said an elderly driver crashed into a fitness center in Rockville Thursday evening. Officials said MCFRS crews responded to Johnson Fitness, located at 12229 Nebel St.

A driver was injured after crashing into a fitness center in Rockville, Maryland. The incident occurred when the driver, who was attempting to park, mistakenly accelerated instead of braking, causing the vehicle to smash through the front glass windows of the LA Fitness gym on Shady Grove Road. The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. on a Friday. The driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported among the gym patrons or staff. The vehicle was later removed from the scene, and the gym sustained significant damage to its entrance.
