US embassy, STEMi host STEM educator workshop in Cabo Verde

  • The management team of an African tech-based organisation, the Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Innovation (STEMi) Makers of Africa, has announced its e-STEM Integration and Development training for educators Cabo Verde in collaboration with the United States embassy in Praia de Cabo Verde.

The U.S. Embassy in Cabo Verde, in collaboration with STEMM Equity and Inclusion (STEMI), hosted a STEM Educator Workshop from December 4-6, 2024, aimed at enhancing STEM education in the region. The workshop, held at the Jean Piaget University of Cabo Verde, brought together educators from various schools to engage in hands-on activities, share best practices, and develop innovative teaching methods. Key activities included sessions on integrating technology in education, fostering critical thinking, and promoting gender equity in STEM fields. The event also featured discussions on the importance of STEM education for economic development and the role of educators in inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers. Participants left with new skills, resources, and a network of like-minded professionals committed to advancing STEM education in Cabo Verde.
